MOPPETS Guidelines

MOPPETS is held in the 2nd floor classrooms in the Education Building. Our MOPPETS program is designed for children of MOPS moms only. If you babysit other children, please make other arrangements for those children on that day. If you have a conflict in this afrea, please bring it to the Steering Committee.

* All children must be signed in each session they attend. Please note any important information or special instructions on the sign-in sheet (i.e. allergies, potty training).

* Infants under the age of 6 months or non-crawling infants may remain with their mothers. Older children must be placed with their age group and remain in this group during the meetings. Moms will be notified of any need by the MOPPETS workers.

* No medication of any kind will be given by any MOPPETS worker.

* Please do not bring toys from home.

* Please exercise good judgement as to when NOT to bring your child. If a child has a fever, diarrhea, vomiting, or runny nose withing 24 hours before a MOPS meeting, please do not bring him. Of course, Mom is always welcome if other arrangements can be made for her child. We want to have a happy, healthy MOPPETS program. Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter.

* For children in the MOPPETS nursery:
a. Please bring a diaper bag with bottles, diapers, pacifier, wipes, and a change of clothes. Please have your child's name on his/her items.
b. Give instructions for your child (feeding, nap, etc.) on sign-in sheet.
c. If your child will require a nap, bring a blanket or infant seat.
d. Workers are instructed to notify you if your child is crying for a long time.

* For children in the remaining MOPPETS rooms:
e. Please dress your child for ease of potty use or diaper changes. BRing diapers if required.
f. Please dress your child appropriately for playtime. Keep in mind painting, gluing, etc.
g. Bring a labeled sipper cup.
h. Please do not bring food (unless allergies require). A snack is provided.
i. Please do not check on your child during the meeting. MOPPETS workers are instructed to notify you if there is a need.

* When dropping off or picking up your child, please be sure to show your appreciaton to your MOPPETS workers. Without them, our MOPPETS program is nearly imporssible.

* It is important to review the on-call sitting schedule early. If there is a conflict and you are unable to baby-sit should the need arise, it is your responsibility to find your own replacement, i.e. ask a friend or another mom in your discussion group to trade days. We need everyone's help.

* Please be respectful of our wonderful workers and pick up your child or children no later than 11:20 A.M. Of you have any questions or concerns, please contact our MOPPETS Coordinators Jennifer Lightcap or Julie Kingston.
